Multi-currency system

Kigo supports working with multiple currencies. Each currency is defined by its name, ISO code (e.g. EUR, USD, GBP) and symbol. The multi-currency system enables:

  • Issuing invoices in foreign currencies.
  • Automatic price conversion according to the set exchange rate.
  • Displaying amounts in both domestic and foreign currency on documents.

Currencies are linked to system languages – each language can have an associated currency.

Setting exchange rates

You can manage exchange rates on the Currency Exchange Rate List page. For each rate you define:

  • Currency – select the currency for which you are setting the rate.
  • Date – date from which the rate is valid.
  • Rate – conversion value (e.g. 1 EUR = 7.5345 HRK).

The system automatically applies the exchange rate valid on the document issue date. If no rate exists for the requested date, the last available rate is used.

Issuing invoices in a foreign currency

When creating an invoice or quote you can select a foreign language that has an associated currency. The system then:

  • Automatically retrieves the exchange rate for the document date.
  • Converts all prices from the domestic to the foreign currency.
  • Displays amounts in the selected currency on the document.

The exchange rate can also be manually set directly on the document if a correction is needed.

Managing currencies

Currencies are defined in the system with three attributes:

  • Name – full currency name (e.g. "Euro").
  • Code – ISO 4217 code (e.g. "EUR").
  • Symbol – symbol for display on documents (e.g. "€").

The system's main currency is determined by the main language. All other currencies are treated as foreign.

You can also set the exchange rate directly when creating an invoice in a foreign currency – the system will prompt for entry if the rate for that date has not yet been defined.
