What is a daily deposit?

The daily deposit is used for recording the amount of cash deposited at the bank or safe at the end of the working day. Each deposit is linked to:

  • Branch – automatically assigned based on the currently active branch.
  • Cash register (POS) – the POS station from which cash is deposited.
  • Date – deposit date (default: today).
  • Amount – total amount of deposited cash.

The deposit is automatically recorded in the cash register journal (cash book) as well.

Creating a new deposit

To enter a new deposit go to Finance → Daily Deposit → New Daily Deposit. The system checks:

  • If a deposit already exists for today's date and the current branch/cash register, it automatically opens the existing one for editing.
  • If no deposit exists, a new one is created with today's date.
  • Enter the cash amount and save. The system automatically updates the cash register report.

Automatic daily deposit

The system supports an automatic daily deposit option. When this option is enabled in settings:

  • A deposit is automatically created each day with a pre-defined amount.
  • The amount is set in the system configuration ("Daily deposit" field).
  • The deposit is automatically posted to the cash register journal.

This option is useful for businesses with a fixed daily cash deposit to the bank.

Editing a deposit

You can edit an existing deposit by changing the amount or date. When changing the date the system checks:

  • If a deposit already exists for the new date for the same branch/cash register, the existing deposit is opened.
  • If none exists, a new deposit is created for the selected date.

Every change automatically updates the corresponding entry in the cash register journal.

Viewing all deposits

On the Daily Deposit List page you can view all entered deposits. The list displays:

  • Deposit date.
  • Branch and cash register.
  • Amount of deposited cash.

Deposits are sorted by date from newest to oldest. You can filter by date for a quicker overview.

The daily deposit automatically creates an entry in the cash register journal (cash book). If you delete a deposit you need to manually check and update the cash register report.
